Yes, it’s normal! The light residue comes from the natural diatomaceous earth used to make the pet mat. Simply wipe it with a damp cloth before use. If needed, you can also rinse it under water following the cleaning steps. Minor variations, such as small white dots, are natural and do not affect the pet mat’s quality or performance.
Wipe the pet mat weekly with a vinegar-water mixture and let it air dry to keep it clean and hygienic. For stains, scrub under running water with a sponge and a clear, non-coloured dishwashing liquid, then rinse well. For deeper stains, a small amount of hydrogen peroxide may help. Only if the stain remains, lightly sand the area using the included sanding tool, avoiding the printed logo.
The mat’s absorbent power keeps your home clean and dry. However, coloured liquids or pet food may stain it. We recommend using dry food to keep it looking its best. With care, including light sanding, it will last for years.
