WHAT IS DIATOMITE?
Diatomite, also known as diatomaceous earth, is nature’s quiet marvel. Formed from the fossilised remains of microscopic algae called diatoms, it is rich in minerals and naturally porous. At Natureva, we shape this remarkable material into sleek, stone-like essentials that bring both beauty and function into your home, keeping your spaces dry, fresh, and effortlessly elevated.
Diatomite’s porous structure quickly absorbs moisture, trapping it within and allowing it to evaporate rapidly, keeping your surfaces dry and clean.
Diatomite dries quickly, often instantly or within a few hours, depending on the amount of water and the airflow in your space. Its quick-drying nature helps inhibit bacteria growth, keeping your home cleaner and fresher.
Yes, the natural properties of diatomite help absorb moisture and prevent the growth of bacteria, which can cause odours, keeping your space smelling fresh.
Yes, diatomite is resistant to mould and mildew, but ensure it fully dries between uses and has good airflow to prevent moisture build-up.
To prevent scratching, all of our diatomite products come with non-slip rubber feet or pads, which elevate the product and protect your surfaces. We also recommend placing your product on a flat, clean surface to avoid unnecessary abrasion. Diatomite products are not ideal for marble surfaces, as the material's absorbent properties could potentially cause discoloration or damage over time.
To keep your diatomite products in top condition, regular care is key. Wipe them weekly with a soft cloth and a vinegar-water solution to remove dust, soap, or stains. For more detailed cleaning, refer to our Care & Cleaning for step-by-step instructions. Proper care ensures your products remain functional, fresh, and beautiful for years to come.
If your diatomite product arrives damaged, please contact us with your Order ID and clear photos of the damage. We’ll make it right and assist you in resolving the issue as quickly as possible.
