Yes, it’s normal! The light residue comes from the natural diatomaceous earth used to make the bath mat. Simply wipe it with a damp cloth before use. If needed, you can also rinse it under water following the cleaning steps. Minor variations, such as small white dots, are natural and do not affect the bath mat’s quality or performance.
Wipe the bath mat weekly with a vinegar-water mixture and let it air dry to keep it clean and hygienic. For stains, scrub under running water with a sponge and a clear, non-coloured dishwashing liquid, then rinse well. For deeper stains, a small amount of hydrogen peroxide may help. Only if the stain remains, lightly sand the area using the included sanding tool.
This mat is designed to last. To minimise stains, we recommend stepping on it only with clean feet. For households concerned about stains, darker-coloured mats may be a better choice. With proper care, including light sanding, it will last for years.
